I intend to create a collection of content loosely related to high end audio, DIY loudspeaker projects, and other stuff.

I’m not sure ‘the rational audiophile’ actually exists—high end hifi is a story of diminishing returns. However, besides the obsessive bits, there is a lot of nonsense going around in the world of high end audio, so it’s important to keep asking what’s real and what isn’t.

On the other hand, I don’t consider it rational to judge the quality of a system solely by looking at objective criteria such as measurements and blind tests. Our subjective impressions clearly involve a lot more than just sound, and it does not help if we ignore all that.

More than anything, I hope to be able to provide some practicable information, instead of sticking to either boring theory or subjective anecdotes. In the end, enjoyment is the only measure of success.
